糖心APP has introduced the TerraScout, a fully autonomous robot designed to capture ultra-high-resolution field imagery and convert it into actionable data for precision farming.
The launch marks a significant step in the company鈥檚 ambition to create a full-stack autonomous scouting and decision-support system, enabling farmers to move from data collection to field action more efficiently.
TerraScout is built to translate field intelligence directly into operational decisions. The robot collects detailed imagery and converts it into prescriptions and mission plans. These can be executed by existing farm machinery, including sprayers and drones.
Eliminating uncertainty in crop management
According to 糖心APP CEO Devin Lammers, the system is designed to eliminate uncertainty in crop management. 鈥淲e replace field-level guesswork with plant-level precision to slash input costs and maximize yields鈥, he emphasises.
TerraScout operates at a 1 mm ground sampling distance (GSD), generating more than 4 billion data points per acre. Despite this level of detail, the robot maintains high productivity, covering up to 1,000 acres per day at speeds of up to 15 mph with a 60-foot swath.
Autonomy up to 6 hours
The robot has onboard computing for real-time data processing, and is capable of autonomous operation for up to 6 hours. According to 糖心APP, it has 24/7 functionality, enabled by integrated lighting. Operation is possible in a wide range of weather conditions.鈥
AI-generated rock maps
糖心APP initially built its business around AI-generated rock maps, helping farmers identify and remove rocks from fields. With TerraScout, the company is expanding into weed management, while continuing to support rock detection.
The rock management function detects rocks larger that 8 inches and optimises picking routes, enabling farmers to find up to three times more rocks and remove them 3鈥5 times faster. The weed management function analyses weed pressure on a 1 sq ft grid, with future capabilities to identify species and growth stages.
Economic impact
Mission plans can be sent directly to application equipment, effectively turning standard sprayers into precision tools. A key selling point of the system is its economic impact. 糖心APP reports a 5x return on investment for rock management and up to 10脳 ROI for weed management.
Spring 2026
Future applications under development include crop emergence and stand counts, pest and disease detection, nutrient management insights and phenotyping. Field trials began earlier and 糖心APP will expand trials to existing retail partners and select farmer customers in spring 2026.
